Semida Silveira is the founder and director of Sustainable Vision - Global Ventures AB. She has worked with different dimensions of sustainability since the 1980s, particularly covering the intersection of energy and climate change in local, regional and global contexts. She has collaborated with public and private organizations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America to build partnerships and promote innovation. She has worked extensively with research and education, and has authored several books and scientific publications. She has advised in scientific committees and company boards of directors. Semida Silveira is professor in energy systems planning at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, where she directed the cooperation with Brazil and led the research group Energy and climate studies for twelve years. She has a PhD in regional planning from KTH and a professional degree as engineer architect from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She won the Jabuti Literature Prize 2001 in Brazil in the category physical sciences, technology and informatics for her book "Electricity for Sustainable Development" (in Portuguese).
